Why I Chose the Name Resurgent Faith

I am no writer. I am no poet. I am no preacher; just a sinner save by grace. The name Resurgent Faith didn't come from someone pretending to have arrived...It came from someone who knows what it means to fail, wander, and still be pursued by God.

I chose the name Resurgent Faith because I believe faith can rise again. Not because faith never gets weak. Not because Christians never struggle. Not because I have always walked closely with God or always lived with the strength, clarity, and obedience I wish I had. Honestly, I chose it because I know first hand what it means to drift.

I know what it means to believe in God and still live too much in my own strength and too deep into this world's muck. I know what it means to carry guilt, fight old battles, get tired in the soul, and wonder how something that once felt alive could become so quiet. I also know God knows our struggles, thoughts, strengths, weaknesses and the very shape of our souls. Faith surges because God is not guessing at what we need. He knows exactly where we are broken and how to restore us.

God does not abandon His children. He doesn't revive us from a distance.

Spiritual defeat may cloud the heart, but it does not cancel the Father’s love. Failure may expose our weakness, but it does not exhaust His grace. A season of wandering may leave us weary; it may even leave scars, but it does not mean the road home has disappeared.

Why? Because Jesus is not only the object of our faith; He is the founder and perfecter of it.

"Looking for Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith..." Rom 12:3

That is what Resurgent Faith means to me.

Resurgent faith is not just faith that feels alive again. It is faith that remembers it was made for a purpose. Jesus set us free, yet we can burden ourselves again by choosing our way over His way. Resurgent Faith is not about religious hype. It's about being called back out of slavery into freedom.

God renews and makes old things new again. That's what He does! When the mind and heart are full of this world's garbage instead of God's peace, that's when we should cry out to God and ask Him to renew our minds, let Him make the old things new again. God brings the renewal, the revival.

Revival is not just feeling better. It is faith rising again — not by human willpower, not by religious performance, not by pretending everything is fine, but by the grace of God breathing life back into what felt defeated.

Resurgent faith is not faith that never struggled. It is faith that keeps reaching for God even after discouragement, defeat, and unbelief have clouded the sky.

I believe some things in us are not dead. They are simply dormant. And by God's grace, dormant tings can rise again.

My songs and reflections are here to remind people that through Christ, faith can be renewed and there is always more than survival.
